Abstract :
Application of self-tuning regulator theory to a generating unit speed governor is illustrated. The proposed regulator has been implemented using a minicomputer on-line and tested on a micromachine model of a generating unit. Details of the practical implementation and real-time test results are described. Test results show that the proposed speed regulator is feasible and provides stable control of the generating unit. Tests conducted have demonstrated that there is a good possibility of the proposed controller being implemented on a microprocessor.
