Abstract :
The authors present a new channel decoding algorithm that can be usefully employed for exploiting the residual intra-frame correlation in the GSM system. For transmission over a fully interleaved Rayleigh fading channel it is possible to achieve a gain of 1.7 dB in terms of bit error probability for the most significant bits with respect to the standard GSM system
