Abstract :
This paper describes a new approach to update network equivalents by exchanging essential operational information between different cardinal points of the demand curve. The purpose of the study is to create an off-line model that has closer agreement with the on-line model of GB system. In order to minimize the setup time for analyzing the network, it needs to be represented with minimum modelling components whilst still modelling the network without compromising the security standards and other grid obligations. The proposed technique is an extension of handling the Extended Ward equivalent without requiring any real time data from the external control areas. The paper also presents the results of the tests performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.
