Abstract :
Thermionic emission of electrons through the liquid/vapor interface of Ar at the normal boiling point was measured. The minimum energy V0 of the conduction band of the electrons in liquid Ar has been determined to be V0 ≃126 meV below the level in vacuo. This result is in good agreement with previous data, if the latter are corrected for contamination effects
