Abstract :
In recent years the Brazilian Electrical Energy Agency issued rules to compensate consumers due to violations of the indicators of power quality. Thus, it is requiring innovations by the electric companies. Therefore, it is appropriate exploring the potential of Smart Grids for the monitoring and management of electricity distribution systems, considering the inclusion of large-scale smart meters and the expressive introduction of distributed generation. The goals of this article are investigate new alternatives for the operation of electric power systems (EPS). The focus of the paper is to improve the active distribution systems management (ADMS) considering the possibility operating proactively. The work focuses in the combined use of techniques to very short-term voltage forecast. The proposed method is called Hybrid Voltage Forecast (HVF) and it is based on the idea that the prediction of electrical quantities is the key to economical and safe operation of Smart Grids.
