Abstract
A brief review is first provided of the assumptions and approximations involved in Uhm´s recent theory (1993) of current modulation in klystron amplifiers. Next, this theory is employed to obtain a solution to a cubic equation that approximates the klystron drift distance to the point of maximum current modulation, and also to obtain the corresponding current modulation amplitude in terms of relevant klystron parameters
