Abstract :
As a consultant to the electrical insulation industry and an adjunct professor at the University of Waterloo, I\´m occasionally asked for a recommendation of a graduate student to fill a vacancy in industry. Recently, I was asked by the manager of a prominent high voltage testing laboratory in need of an electrical insulation specialist if I could recommend a young engineer who might be interested in a permanent position. "Young," I exclaimed . . . not to be found anywhere; it is hard enough finding older insulation specialists who are seeking employment.
