Abstract :
The question is no longer, “Should the electric power industry be deregulated?” Instead, the questions now are: “how soon? to what extent? and, how do we get there from here?” The longer-term benefits promised are lower prices, more customer choice and innovation. But what about the short-term impacts on everyone en-route? The author discusses both the short and long-term impacts of deregulation and the challenges faced by the power industry
