Abstract :
The C.N. Tower in Toronto is the highest free-standing building in the world and offers a unique opportunity for lightning research. Two current measuring systems have been installed in the tower and initial measurements are presented. Lightning flashes to the tower have been videotaped and cumulative probability distributions for temporal characteristics of these flashes are presented.
