Abstract
This paper introduces a single phase AC/DC converter with unity power factor input at grid side. The proposed topology consists of a diode bridge followed by an asymmetrical DAB circuit working in boost mode. The DAB is utilized to regulate both DC output voltage and averaged input current. With single-side PWM modulation, the DAB can possess advantages such as lower RMS currents and larger soft switching range. Zero cycling current can also be achieved to reduce power losses. Simulation and some experimental test have been carried out to verify the effectiveness of proposed converter.
