  • Abstract
    The general purpose Automatic Test System included the general purpose instruments and the special purpose Test Unit Adapter (TUA). With the increasing types of the unit under test, the number of the TUA was increasing too, eventually leading to huge automatic test system. The main idea of this research is removing TUA and connecting the instrument and the equipment under test directly. So the volume of the ATS can be substantially reduced. At the same time, the power supply system is standardized and the testing software was fully generalized. The equipment of environmental simulation also realizes generally through a certain number of optical and electrical interfaces. The volume and quantity are reduced greatly. The portable general purpose automatic test system has all functions of existing ATS. The system reduces scale greatly and the volume of shared instrument resource is less than 0.3 m3. The test results showed that the design was reasonable and met the real requirement.
