Abstract :
IEEE Std 1232-2010 Standard for Artificial Intelligence Exchange and Service Tie to All Test Environments (AIESTATE) provides a standardized approach to modeling and control of a data-driven diagnostic and prognostic reasoning environment. This work continues a previous effort to build wider acceptance and extension of this standard through development of the SAPPHIRE™ tool. Previously, SAPPHIRE™ was extended to contain a complete implementation of all required Reasoner Manipulation Services listed by the AI-ESTATE standard. In this paper, we report the results of abstracting this services API, allowing the tool to be run as distinct client and server processes that may communicate over a networked connection. We describe the architecture underlying this client-server interface and the XML protocol constructed to facilitate communication between the client and server.
