  • Abstract
The standing-travelling wave boundary condition (STWBC) is presented for the truncation of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) grid. This new boundary condition represents an improvement over the perfectly matched layer (PML) and the one-way wave absorbing boundary condition (ABC) in that it includes no additional absorbing region, no field splitting, and is composed of simple FDTD updating expressions. Numerical results demonstrate the stability and efficiency of this new boundary condition
