Abstract :
An adaptation of the work by Huber and Muller on partial transmit sequences (PTSs) for the reduction of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is described. The new variation combines cyclic shifts of the inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) subblock output with PTSs. The performance of the new scheme is slightly better than that of a PTS scheme for the same number of comparisons and avoids the need for complex multipliers when the number of phase rotations is greater than 4
