Abstract :
A bistable wavelength switching device was realised utilising a new type of hysteresis characteristic in a 1.3 μm two-electrode GaInAsP distributed feedback laser. The switching operation between two modes separated by 19 Å was successfully achieved. This can be applied to an optical wavelength multiplexing system
