Abstract
Various types of radar and their applications are described. Included are Doppler weather radars, which can measure rainfall windshear, and high-altitude wind profiles; low-frequency radars, for geological probing and buried object detection; and spaceborne radars, for remote sensing. Spaceborne radar is also used to explore the surfaces of other planets.<>
