Abstract
Spectrum broadening due to the interaction of local oscillator (LO) phase noise with an adjacent channel signal is analyzed, and applied to the situation where a cognitive radio (CR) detector experiences in-band interference from a strong adjacent channel signal. Expressions for the resulting in-band interference and modified detection performance are presented.
