Abstract :
In the past few months we lost two icons of our EMC family at two opposite ends of the EMC discipline. Clayton R. Paul passed away at the end of June and represented an amazing contributor in academia. Jim Klouda represented the testing end of the spectrum. So Clayton taught how to do a good EMC design and Jim tested that design to meet EMC specifications. They were good friends of mine although we have not been able to chat much over time. In Clayton´s case, I was honored to talk with him about this eventuality when he first was diagnosed with his illness over two years ago. He made it way past the doctor´s expectations and even published his last book as time marched on. As you will see below there are a few tributes to him. I met Jim many years ago as I was trying to get my act together in learning the testing business. I remember his friendly chats that did not boast of his starting a major testing organization outside of Chicago. His sons followed in his steps with the organization and I have ended up on committees with Ray Klouda who is the president of the company Jim started.
