Abstract :
We report the first continuous nondestructive measurement of dispersion along a fiber designed to have a continuously varying dispersion profile. This measurement highlights the flexibility of the measurement technique and illustrates the levels of accuracy [/spl ap/0.05 ps/(nm/spl middot/km)] that can be achieved when pulling long fibers with arbitrary dispersion profiles.
