Abstract :
The generation of narrowband millimetre-wave radiation has been demonstrated by photomixing with two longitudinal modes of a Nd:YVO4 microchip laser. The observed linewidth of 430 Hz at 101 GHz frequency indicates that the common-mode-rejection effect or the laser cavity efficiently suppresses frequency fluctuations between the oscillating modes, enabling stable millimetre-wave radiation to be generated
