  • Abstract
    Dispersion compensation using a fibre Bragg grating in transmission is reported. The authors demonstrate transmission at 100 bit/s over 72 km of non-dispersion shifted fibre with no power penalty using an 11 cm long unchirped, Bragg grating tapered in strength. Using 106 km of non-dispersion shifted fibre, there is a 2 dB power penalty
