Abstract :
The general requirements for power system simulation are outlined and the characteristics and uses of existing simulators described. The theoretical operation of an active analog electronic circuit known as an impedance converter is introduced and its use in a novel power system simulator described. Results are given to demonstrate the performance of this real-time phase-based modular simulator.
