Abstract :
The use of a business focused development process can greatly facilitate producing and maintaining Cobol programs. The authors outline an OPEN (object oriented process, environment, and notation) process framework, the most appropriate current process for object oriented and component based development in a business environment, in the context of implementations using the Cobol language. Its underpinning meta model and framework make OPEN valuable for both development and maintenance
