Abstract :
The POIMS Net is a multiple-fibre star network that combines optical space-, time-, and wavelength-division techniques to provide n×n cell switching with port bandwidth >10 Gbit/s, and sub-Tbit/s total capacity. An implementation with arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) routers and semiconductor electroabsorption gate switches demonstrates cell switching at 10 Gbit/s/port
