Abstract :
Developments in communications technology have significant. often rapid, social impact. Personal wireless communication is the flagship of the so-called wire less revolution. and with this has come visions of unprecedented connectivity. However, wireless access and capacity inevitably face a trade-off with the use of a finite, shared resource, namely the radio spectrum. The challenge therefore. is to develop technologies which allow mass, high capacity, and wireless communications within a shared spectrum. Central to these technologies is the use of antenna arrays in cellular systems.
