Abstract :
A basis for the signal subspace, which is used for the estimation angles, can be obtained directly from the array matrix without computationally expensive eigen-decomposition at the cost of reducing the effective array aperture size. An efficient method for constructing the basis is presented which requires less of a sacrifice in terms of size, so that its estimation performance can be improved
