Abstract :
The FIFA World Cup begins today! I recently read an article that said six times more people will watch this event on TV than watch the Super Bowl in US Football. The team that wins will be rated number one in the most popular sport in the world (I exclude curling, because it is a winter sport). We all want our country to win, because then we will be rated number one! The sense of pride makes the winners feel so good, and the losers, so bad. Of course, by the time you read this, the World Cup will be long over, and we will have moved on to trying to be number one in something else.
