Abstract
The saturation characteristic of a transformer is a single-valued curve relating the open-circuit voltage, or flux-linkages associated with the transformer windings and the current required to establish these fluxes or to induce voltage. The accuracy of analysing the dynamic performance of the transformer depends largely on how well its saturation characteristic is represented by analytical functions. It is demonstrated that an extended logistic model can give adequate representation of the transformer saturation characteristics
