Abstract :
An introduction into cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR requirements has been given, and commercial CPR feedback systems were discussed. A novel microwave-based CPR feedback approach was investigated and introduced. It has been shown that the thoracic compression depth can be simulated and measured by applying an antenna pair directly to the patient´s chest. Future CPR feedback systems for field tests should contain the antenna together with appropriate radar circuits in the lower gigahertz range as described.
