Abstract
A magnetic core memory is described which has a read-write cycle time of 2.18 ¿sec, an access time of 1 ¿sec, and a storage capacity of 1,179,648 bits. The array configuration and the design of the driving system are shown. The core and transistor requirements are discussed, and a description is given of the sensing and the driving circuitry. Design factors which governed the choice of the 3-dimensional system organization are presented.
