Abstract :
A joint effort to develop an expert system dealing with failure cause analysis in closed feedwater heaters is described. A summary of the development of the prototype system is presented, and its use in determining the cause of a tube failure in a feedwater heater is described. A prototype of the expert system has been developed and demonstrated
