Abstract
The principle of operation of a new scheme for low-noise simultaneous retrieval of X- and Y-polarized intermodal responses of an all-fiber bimodal sensor is reported. The sensor construction features simplicity, allows for a reference channel for signal normalization and permits independent tuning of the initial phases of each of the signals by detecting signals at different wavelengths contained in the spectrum of a quasimonochromatic source
