Abstract :
The authors evaluate the performance of an algorithm for passive angles-only tracking of multiple moving targets. This algorithm combines a beamforming algorithm and the Kalman filter to solve the data association problem, which arises in multiple target tracking. Three beamforming algorithms are considered. These algorithms are based on the maximum likelihood method and retrieve the directions of arrival, by minimising a cost function. The authors investigate the impact of this function and other parameters on the performance of the tracking algorithm, in terms of correct data association
