Abstract
A simplified pre-design evaluation, both of technical efficiency and relative cost, is given for main available options to reduce the positive sequence magnetic field from single-circuit AC transmission lines. Their dependence on line voltage is also analyzed. Limitations due to audible noise level and live-line working clearances are considered. Also zero sequence magnetic field limitations are characterized
