Abstract
This paper describes the performances of variable speed Drive, VSD to enhance energy consumption in Water Treatment Plant. This study is focus on the comparisons between variable Speed Drive, VSD and RVSS to assess the pumping performance as well as energy efficiency in the WTP system. Based on the Layne Bowler pump characteristic, it clearly proved that the VSD is more reliable in term of speed and energy usage compared to RVSS. As results, by using VSD it will bring a lot of benefits for long term application and gives a lot of saving in ROI.
