  • Abstract
    The first gain-switched photonic band crystal (PBC) lasers producing picosecond pulses with peak power exceeding 10 W have been presented by researchers in Germany. The compact and robust laser source designed by collaborating teams at PicoQuant GmbH and the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) combines a high output power with a high beam quality, making it suitable for applications that require fibre coupling or a small focus size.
