Abstract :
It is shown that existing approximation-based techniques for dynamic spectrum sharing (involving randomly placed unlicensed devices) cannot guarantee primary system protection. For the first time, an analysis is presented that compares the approximate and exact protection criteria. A novel combination of existing approximations is shown to guarantee primary system protection.
