Abstract :
Based on a feed-forward fibre-optic delay line structure, a 16 bit optical compression technique is demonstrated for ultra-fast packet-switched optical networks. An incoming bit rate of 100 Mbit/s is converted to an outgoing bit rate of 100 Gbit/s with 10.0±0.9 ps bit spacing
