Abstract
This paper discusses the stochastic behaviour of some 2-unit cold-standby redundant system under most generalised assumptions of arbitrary failure and repair time distributions and derives various reliability characteristics e.g., i) Distribution of First-passage time to system failure, ii) Point availability and unavailability, iii) s-Expected number of system failures, disappointments, interferences, etc., Models discussed are: I) Intermittently available redundant system, II) Intermittently used system, III) Redundant system with repair and post-repair, IV) Repair limit supension model. We employ Markov Renewal Processes technique to study the above systems.
