Abstract
Whether it is for monitoring processes, analyzing statistical data for research or forecasting future events, sensors offer valuable data as input. It is a matter of how we can make the most of the information that we can gather from the environment that is the challenge. This paper tackles the problem of data acquisition through different types of sensors, storage of information into databases, visualizing it in the most appropriate format on a case by case basis and offer solutions for each situation. We also present the use case of the sensor network that monitors various parameters for water quality within a river basin, developed in the CyberWater project.
