Abstract :
This paper investigates economic design of a sampling plan using skip-lot approach when sampling is non-destructive. A skip-lot cost model is developed by considering production, appraisal, and failure costs. The optimal sampling plan is characterized by the sample size, the acceptance number, and the inspection interval. Two alternate policies are considered in the design of sampling plan; constant and variable lot size. Model sensitivity is discussed.
