Abstract
The processes of the creation and evolution of lattice defects under strong gamma-irradiation are essentially simplified in the case of a lattice where initial defects remain unchanged under irradiation and new defects grow due to the creation and coalescence of vacancies. Radiation-induced changes in the conversion efficiency of such “ideal” samples are described by a simple relationship which can be directly compared with experiment. Based on such approach, experimental statistics was analyzed and “ideal” samples were separated. As result, some inferences on the mechanism of irradiation-induced changes are drawn
