Abstract
The noise floor of the analogue TV and FM radio signals in the cable TV networks (CATV) is analysed in order to establish how the planning of the levels should be modified if QPSK, QAM and OFDM are used. The results of a simulation using ADS software are presented and there is an analysis of complex laboratory experiments. The article ends with advice for the first stage of planning
