Abstract
This communication is concerned with a most timely problem. Early warning systems against ICBM-attacks now and then cause false alarms which in turn can trigger a retaliatory ICBM attack. Up until now any retaliatory attacks have been stopped before any consequences have resulted. I try to compute the joint probability of infinitely many false alarms being detected before serious consequences have resulted.
