Abstract
As quadruplex video tape´s 20-year dominance of TV recording ends, compact helical formats deliver greater production flexibility. The three most accepted formats are dealt with: two-inch transverse, one-inch helical, and one-inch segmented helical. It is examined how these new formats affect the television broadcast industry.
