I2TS 2008, 7th international information and telecommunication technologies symposium

This edition of IEEE Latin America Transactions brings up a collection of the best papers presented during the seventh International Information and Telecommunication Technologies Symposium (I2TS), which took place from December 3rd to 5th 2008, in Foz do Iguaçú, Brazil. The Technical Committee Program of I2TS considered three best papers among the entire proceedings of I2TS 2008, which was composed by 121 works. The best papers represent the finest work published in I2TS, serving as an example of the investigation that is done in the Information and Telecommunication areas. The current issue of the IEEE Latin America Transactions brings a selection of the best papers presented at the 2nd Workshop on Computational Intelligence - WCI??2008, an event co-located with the 10th Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks (SBRN??2008), held in Salvador da Bahia (Brazil), October 26-30, 2008. The four selected papers give to the reader a faithful panorama of the quality and diversity of the applied research on the field of Computational Intelligence currently developed in Brazil.
