Abstract
Discusses changes which are likely to occur in the power system control strategies during years 1978 to 2000. Hierarchical decomposition of the system into a multilevel strategy is illustrated. The development of the relationship between the utility and its customers is discussed assuming the wide use of home microcomputers. Controversial issues arising from the advanced computerisation are outlined and the possibility of blackouts in the year 2000 is discussed.
