B. A. Behrend: The subject of Mr. Shover´s paper is not altogether confined to its title. Not only has he referred to the application of the electric motor in steel mills, but he has also described the usefulness of the storage battery in connection with steel mill problems. The application of blast furnace gas in the power plant at Gary has also been mentioned. It is carried out here on the most gigantic scale. As the paper itself does not rigidly conform to its title, I wish to make a few remarks concerning the gas-engine generating plant which is illustrated in Figs. 3 and 4.
