Abstract :
I had the honor to be associated with Mr. Edison in the early days. Some of Mr. Rice´s graphic accounts have brought back to me memories of the troubles and trials which we experienced in those old days for the lack of material and instruments; for instance, trying to measure volts without voltmeters, amperes without ampere-meters etc.
