Abstract :
Very-large-scale integration (VLSI) is seen as the raw material needed for a quantum jump in the exploitation of electrotechnology. It will drive the microprocessor to new levels of performance! and the microprocessor, in turn, will extend itself into many `hitherto unimagined¿ areas of application.
